Around the Farm Fly Control
|<< Back to Biosecurity|
|Resistance to insecticides by flies, especially house flies is an important factor and this is why it is necessary to only use insecticides in conjunction with effective cultural and biological methods. |
Cultural – removing manure frequently and thoroughly and keeping it dry reduces the habitat for larvae as does mechanically compacting piled manure. Therefore manure and bedding should be removed from pens and stables and piled for storage and then compacted and covered.
Biological – to encourage the right enviroment for mites and beetles that prey on fly eggs and larvae which again can only be achieved in dry manure.
If cultural and biological methods are maximised then effectiveness of insecticide treatments will be enhanced and development of fly resistance to the insecticide reduced.
Insecticides are either adulticides i.e. Bait, paint on or sprays and larvicidal i.e spray breeding sites
Permost Uni Fly Spray
Neporex treats the source of the problem where biting and sucking flies reproduce.
Because Neporex prevents the growth of all larval stages – the result is longer lasting fly control that has a greater impact on total fly populations.
Neporex is easy to apply by sprinkling, spraying or scattering
